The Community Health Information Tracking System or CHITS was featured as part of the Philippine health information system at the Prince Mahidol Awards Conference last January 28 to 31st in Bangkok, Thailand.

Director Crispinita Valdez of the Department of Health Information Management Services and Dr Cesar Encinares, city health officer of Pasay City both cited the need for better systems for collecting data in the country. CHITS was then featured as one of the efforts toward attaining this goal. Dr. Alvin Marcelo, director of the UP Manila National Telehealth Center and Ms Charity Tan of DOH-IMS were also participants in the workshop.
