Medicard, Rizal Medical Center and PGH participants in Level 1 OpenMRS Training Course

Press release for the fourth Level 1 OpenMRS Training Course
Representatives from Medicard Philippines Inc., Rizal Medical Center and the Philippine General Hospital participated in the 4th Level 1 OpenMRS Training Course conducted at the ILC Training Room, Old Neda Building, Padre Faura St.., Manila last February 22, 2010.
Dr. Catherine Jimenez headed the Medicard group while Dr. Roy Resurreccion and Dr. Paolo Miguel David represented the Rizal Medical Center. Ms. Gensela Lacambacal represented the Philippine General Hospital. The one-day training course is geared towards those who would like gain a basic knowlege of the Open Medical Records System (OpenMRS)and would like to implement a medical records system in their respective healthcare facilities. OpenMRS is a free and open source software that is customizable and flexible for both hospital , research or clinic use. Topics that were included during the training were :Brief Review of OpenMRS History and Development, Installing OpenMRS Virtual Appliance, Basic Administration and Maintenance, Concept Dictionary – Introduction, OpenMRS Module Installation, Patient Management and Registration Module; In-Patient Care Module, Creating a Basic OpenMRS Form, Creating a Basic OpenMRS Report and Cohort Building, Introduction to OpenMRS Mobile and Joining the OpenMRS Community – Philippine and International.
