RxBox demos a hit in Cebu, CdeO

Requests for a demonstration of the RxBox biomedical device were popular during separate celebrations of the National Science and Technology Week 2016 in Regions VII and X between July 24 to 29, 2016.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region VII and the National Telehealth Center (NTHC) gave RxBox demos for requesting individuals who represented varied institutions in Cebu and nearby provinces. Demo requests were also received by DOST Region X during the same week.

At the RxBox booth in Cebu City, visitors from the University of Southern Philippines Foundation as well as from the health and business sectors were interested in partnerships after learning about the components of the device through a demo. Several of them volunteered to test RxBox’s sensors and were amazed to know that it is a local health innovation that is connected to an electronic medical record called Community Health Information Tracking System (CHITS). The NSTW celebration in Region VII was also an opportunity for DOST Regional Director Edilberto Paradela and Assistant Regional Director Jesus Zamora Jr. to discuss issues and updates with the RxBox project staff in the region.
