Oxford University to host seminar on RxBox Program

The University of Oxford is set to host a seminar featuring the RxBox Program on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the university’s St. Hilda’s College. RxBox Project Manager and University Researcher Dr. Kristine Mae Magtubo from the University of the Philippines (UP) Manila National Telehealth Center and RxBox Lead Engineer Nathaniel Cruz from the UP Diliman Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering will discuss how the RxBox telemedicine research program has helped improve the delivery of health services to geographically and disadvantaged communities in the Philippines. To date, RxBox has been deployed to 186 health facilities in the Philippines and has served over three million Filipinos.

Carrying the RxBox Program’s mission statement, the seminar titled “Advancing Community Healthcare in the Philippines” will also highlight the ongoing collaboration between the University of Oxford (supported by the Royal Academy of Engineering) and the University of the Philippines in further developing the RxBox biomedical device for better use of the primary health care providers in the Philippines.
