With 7 major awards from various national and international institutions, what could UP’s homegrown Community Health Information Tracking System (CHITS) prove Filipinos more?

Its high time to revisit the CHITS story straight from Dr. Marie Irene Sy, National CHITS Manager of the National Telehealth Center (NTHC). On June 14, Dr. Sy, will present a paper entitled The Community Health Information Tracking System (CHITS): An Electronic Record System Built for and by the People at the National Institutes of Health, University of the Philippines Manila (NIH-UP Manila). The paper will highlight how capacity building at the heart of CHITS, launched health workers as data managers and effective decision makers in Pasay City health centers.
The paper will discuss on the sociological perspective on how CHITS software was developed as well as the enabling factors and challenges that affects CHITS adoption and sustainability. According to Alissa Angeles, RN, CHITS Program Assistant, this forum will also tackle the challenges and next steps on CHITS development.
