New Sabtang doctor champions for RxBox

The new doctor of Sabtang, Batanes, Dr. Ralph Julius Mendoza, visited the National Telehealth Center today, January 22, 2015, to relearn RxBox and CHITS.
“I really want RxBox to be utilized to its fullest in Sabtang,” Dr. Mendoza said. He also shared that his staff is confident in using the device. However, they are only using the device as an electronic blood pressure app when he arrived at the island December last year. “RxBox has a lot of potentials as it has ECG, pulse oximeter, and maternal-fetal monitor,” Dr. Mendoza added. Since then, he started using the pulse oximeter and cardiac monitor capabilities of the RxBox.
Sabtang is one of the 20 municipalities that pioneered the use of RxBox in 2013 in partnership with then Sabtang municipal health officer, Dr. Jacqueline Momville. It is also one of the most active sites that used the RxBox, as they acknowledged the program to be life-saving [Read: “RxBox saves mother from Sabtang”].
