Geolocate4Health student grand winner announced

In an effort to achieve a comprehensive database of all the health care facilities in the country, the National Telehealth Center (NThC), in cooperation with DOH and Google, has aimed to map the entire country’s health care facilities by launching the first Geolocate4Health Contest.

On its final announcement, the grandwinner of an IPOD TOUCH is none other than the multi-month winner from College of Pharmacy, Jade Rodriguez, by labeling a grandtotal of 129 health facilities in our country using the googlemapmaker. Using Google Map Maker, all participants was able to pin and outline health care facilities (e.g. government hospitals, rural health units, lying-in centers, barangay health stations) in any areas in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the doctor to the barrio category grand prize winner of a BlackBerry phone is Anthony Bocboc Cu, UP College of Medicine Class 2008 deployed in Dapa, Surigao del Norte. He was able to label a grandtotal of 45 health facilities in our country using the googlemapmaker. Using Google Map Maker, all participants was able to pin and outline health care facilities (e.g. government hospitals, rural health units, lying-in centers, barangay health stations) in any areas in the Philippines.
